***Story Of The Mute***

He walks into the kitchen for some food, forgetting to put the ship into standby

I assume that he did. He hasn't seemed to be an idiot so far. I tend to think the best of people. *Want a half of my sandwich?* I hold out the plate.

Wolves down the sandwhich, "So what do i need to know about you?..Captain"

Putting the bag of coins aside, I pull out empty pockets and smile.

I gesture toward my sandwich, and nod as if to say *I make a mean one of these.*

And I pull him over to show him my extensive toolbox. But on the way, I hear a thud, and the ship jerks. I trip forward, reaching out my hands to catch myself. I look over at him curiously.

"Boulder mustve hit the ship, u have auto pilot right?"

I nod vigorously. But then my eyes grow wide. I get this accusatory look on my face. *You engaged it right?* I run toward the console, hoping to get there in time to engage the auto-pilot.

"Good autopilot always self engages" he says not noticing Victorias look

I attempt to perceive the danger of the pilot's room as I prepare to enter. I roll a 3 alertness and 4 general knowledge.

As you enter you think its safe enough and realize that the auto pilot has not been switched on

I stretch up to turn on my auto-pilot switch. I look back at him and shrug. He didn't know any better. No sense in an argument. But now I'll need to give Adrianna's frame some repairs when we land.

"Sorry, next you'll tell me it doesn't know how to auto avoid Reaver zones "

*I tend to keep this ship away from Reaver Zones. There isn't a Reaver Zone between where we've been and where we're going. Surely Adrianna hasn't gone that far off course.*

But thinking all of this doesn't help him out. So I just shake my head.

The stress! The fear! The ... all gets to me at once. I faint.

"well I dont like our chances of avoiding reavers then, its been a good 20 + years since I flew this way and It could be packed with reavers, hope they dont scare you"

As she faints he picks her up and puts her in an ice bath, taking all her credits as he does so, just for safe keeping

I shiver.

"Ooops are you okay captain?" Pulls her out of bath and takes her to the pilot room wiith him

"Dsh-jkdsf-uew-ked-ufg." Stuttering mute. I hope you appreciate the effort. *Where - where am I?* I roll a 2 alertness check.

You realise your in your ship but u dont notice that your coins are all gone "How do i help?" he Says

Can't - think... Cold... Chilled... Damp... "tha gih osgio hdghi ohg"

"hmmm" *gets a big heater and sits you on it and turns it on full*

Hot hiney! I yell out in pain as it begins to scorch.

hmm Puts you on the floor "Are u okay captain"

I run through the ship, trying to cool down somehow.

"hmm oh well better keep piloting"............"captain where are we?" he screams

I'm finally able to gain my composure. I look out the window, and somehow, I recognize a distant star cluster.

I grab the stellar map, and though we are no where on that map, I show him where we are in relation to it.
Oy! It was just a sandwich. How did we get all the way out here?
